Tom's December Publicity
12/11/2018
Christmas will soon be with us.
On 30 November Fordingbridge will be switching on the Christmas Lights and jolly Santa Claus will be arriving in the High Street - although it’s hard to be jolly when you have to work at Christmas.
Christmas crackers will be there with all the old, corny jokes: “What do you get if you eat all the Christmas Decorations? Tinseltis!” and “What do you call someone who is afraid of Santa? A Clause-traphobic!”
The Fordingbridge Camera Club also has its share of old, corny jokers who are always happy and jolly. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm most Wednesdays of the season. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk contains our programme of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on top quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. In addition to our regular meetings, we devote many evenings to those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and have added a great deal to the quality of the club. 12th December will feature an illustrated talk by Slawek Staszczuk, a Polish born commercial photographer from Brighton whose talk is titled "Landscape Photography is Simple". Macro photography will be covered at the 23rd January talk by Chris Button. The illustrated talk is entitled “Landscape and Natural History Macro Photography”. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee.
As we go to Amazon etc to look for Christmas presents remember it only used to be death and taxes were inevitable - now there’s also shippping and handling.
Another thought we should keep clearly in mind this festive period is “Eat, drink, live, love and be happy – for tomorrow our credit cards may be cancelled.” Happy Christmas to all our readers.
