A Summary of Anne's talk about Composition

Draw viewer's attention to the most important part of the image by using light, colour and design.
The lightest part of the image is dominant and put important parts of the image on the 1/3rds.
Do not allow light areas on the edge of the image to take the eye out of the picture, or off to other distracting places.
Strong design elements include use of
Lead ins
Diagonals
Triangles
Tying all elements together
Framing
Keep the viewers attention inwards so their eye doesn't wander out of the image.
Give space to moving subjects and portraits where the model is looking out.
Always remember that you can break the rules!!!!
