Fordingbridge is alive with excitement! Is it heated discussions on the Referendum? Could it be harder to win the Eurovision song if we leave?
I doubt that.
We were 24th out of 27 last year and our last win was in 1969 with Lulu singing ‘Boom Bang-a-Bang’ – they don’t write lyrics like that anymore!
Or is it about the celebrations for the Queen’s 90th Birthday?
It could equally be the news about an exhibition of photographic work by members of the Fordingbridge Camera Club.
You will have the opportunity to examine the work your friends and neighbours have produced. It will be held in the Town Hall on Friday 13th May from 10.30am to 4.30pm and on Saturday 14th May from 9.30am to 4.00pm. The work will be judged by a professional photographic judge and visitors will be invited to cast votes for their favourite image. Youngsters will also be displaying their photographic skills.
We are a friendly, go-ahead club and meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesdays.
Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk has our programme for the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on the highest quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. The club programme shows the planned meeting days which are almost every Wednesday throughout our season. Visitors are welcome to attend any of the events listed in the programme for a small fee unless otherwise stated.
Creative and Practical evenings are organised by members for members and therefore running and content may be changed at short notice. As a group they set themselves new challenges and then review the results collectively. Time-lapse photography was a recent subject they investigated.
And now for Dictionary corner: Porcupine – Is this a craving for bacon? Stalemate – Is this an old spouse?
I doubt that.
