Tom's April Publicity
15/03/2017
Mother's Day (26 March) is a celebration honouring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.
When I was young my mother made sure I had everything handed to me on a plate. Soup was a nightmare! When I was a kid my parents moved a lot - but I always found them.
But memories are happier now; Fordingbridge Camera Club remains the same happy, jolly environment and welcomes new members and visitors. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm most Wednesdays. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk contains our programme for the year, a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on top quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee. In addition to our regular meetings, we devote many evenings to those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively.
A session during April will cover ‘Photoshop Elements’. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular but are only open to club members. If you decide to join after 1st February our subscriptions for this club year are halved.
Spring is one of the most attractive seasons for photographers, with an incentive to get out and capture all the new fresh colours and the crisp lighting after winter. Look for fields of bright coloured crops, blossom on trees, brilliant green grass and the typically low sunlight which adds sparkle.
Don’t get over exited by Spring however - April brings a new Tax Day. Of course at my age everyday is pretty taxing! News update: Police have reported that a truckload of onions overturned on the M27. Motorists are advised to look for a hard shoulder to cry on.
