Tom's July Publicity
12/06/2016
A quiet time at the Fordingbridge Camera Club! Our season finished in June so I am catching up on my reading.
What to read – well the Diagram Prize is offered each year for the strangest book title of the year. The 1982 title - ‘Population and Other Problems: Family Planning, Housing 1,000 Million, Labour Employment’ by China National Publications - seems a trifle heavy.
Donald L Wilson’s 1984 book, ‘Natural Bust Enlargement with Total Power:
How to increase the Other 90% of Your Mind to increase the Size of Your Breasts’ hardly applies to me.
Even the 2010 title ‘Managing a Dental Practice: The Ghenkis Khan Way’ doesn’t appeal!
If your personal reading list appals you why not come and see our stand at the summer’s country shows? We will be at many of them: Fordingbridge Festival 16th July, Frogham Fair 30th July and Ellingham Show Saturday 13th August. We are a friendly, go-ahead club and meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesdays. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk will soon have our programme for the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on the highest quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. The club programme shows the planned meeting days which are almost every Wednesday throughout our season. Visitors are welcome to attend any of the events listed in the programme for a small fee unless otherwise stated. Creative and Practical evenings are organised by members for members and therefore running and content may be changed at short notice. As a group they set themselves new challenges and then review the results collectively. If you are new to photography you should always remember that with anything new you should start at the bottom, except when you are learning to swim.
