How good to see the Edinburgh Festival top jokes for 2015. “I just deleted all the German names off my phone. It’s Hans Free.” was selected as the funniest joke. (Darren Walsh). His “My cat is recovering from a massive stroke” also fared well. If your photography is not faring too well why not visit our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk .
Our programme is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on top quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on alternate Wednesdays.
The speaker on 23 September is Eva Worobiec FRPS. She will be showing some of her work under the title “Working in Themes”. Eva will take us through iconic images of the fast disappearing neon lighted cinemas, diners and hotels of small town America. If a trip on Route 66 with a camera is ever on your holiday agenda this talk is a must for you. Also included will be her work with images from the book “The Coast” which she produced in collaboration with her husband and others and allows you to appreciate the beauty of various coastal regions, including UK, France and Spain. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee.
In addition to our regular meetings, we devote many evenings to those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively.
These additional sessions have proven to be very popular but are only open to club members. If you are going to the USA another of Darren’s jokes could be of interest to you – “We know the location of the Big Apple, but do we know where Minneapolis?”
