Tom's February Publicity

12/01/2015
“Don’t be unsympathetic if your wife’s worries seem to you to be trivial. You haven’t tried to run a house with tiresome servants and ailing children.” Very good advise from my 1913 copy of guidance for the modern man. I shall use it for my next New Year’s Resolution!
An easier Resolution to follow is, “Dip into the Fordingbridge Camera Club website at www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk “ It has a feast of photographs taken by your local friends and neighbours and also includes our programme for the season. This is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers, coupled with opportunities to show your work and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges.
We are a friendly group meeting at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on alternate Wednesdays. In addition to our regular meetings, we are devoting many evenings to Practical Photography, a group to help members who are new-comers to photography. These sessions have proven to be very popular but are only open to club members.
If you decide to join after 1st February our subscriptions for this club year are halved. Good photographs come from developing an eye for a picture and viewing a wide range of other people’s images. The wider the range of images you see the more your imaginative your work can become. Our work will also be represented at the free photographic exhibition being held at Salisbury Library from 10 – 31 January; come and support us.
Further good advice from my 1913 book is: “Don’t expect your wife to wait on you hand and foot. She has other things to do than to fetch and carry for you. If you don’t exact it, it will give her great pleasure to wait on you to a reasonable extent.”
A likely story!
