Tom's August Publicity

Do not worry! Just take, each day, one anxiety attack at a time. I am told that due to recent cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off! But be not afraid, the good news is that the new season of the Fordingbridge Camera Club starts again on 10th September. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk contains our planned programme. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee.

In addition to our regular meetings, we are devoting many evenings to Creative Photography for those who want to explore more advanced aspects of photography. The Practical Photography group is aimed at helping members who are new-comers to photography.

One of our speakers in the coming season is Rosemary Wilman, a famed photographer who recently completed two years as President of The Royal Photographic Society. Her work is very varied and will give inspiration to all budding photographers. Some of her startling images are at www.spectrumphotoart.co.uk Her interests are diverse: travel, landscape, natural history, in fact anything that takes her eye. The talk is entitled “This, That and...” and will contain some memorable images.

Until our season re-starts you could visit our stand at the Fordingbridge Festival on Saturday 19 July, Ellingham Show on 9 August and Frogham Fair on 23 August. This will give you the chance to meet us and take the opportunity to discuss what you would like a camera club to be able to do for you or even just to consider the photographs on display. Summer is an ideal time for photography and all these local shows are good sources for photographs.
