Tom's December Publicity

December
‘Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens was first published in December 1843 and tells the story of sour and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge’s ideological, ethical and emotional transformation after the supernatural visits of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Why not come and join the sour and stingy members of the Fordingbridge Camera Club? If we can’t help you to transform fully at least we can help with your photography.

We are a friendly, go-ahead club. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on alternate Wednesdays. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk has our programme for the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. In addition to our regular meetings, we are devoting many evenings to Practical Photography, a group to help members who are new-comers to photography. These sessions have proven to be very popular but are only open to club members.

On 23rd January Roy Lambeth CPAGB BPE1* will be judging our prints of British Wildlife and Nature. Wildlife photography requires patience and inclination to sit and wait for hours for a creature to make its appearance. We, who are without these virtues, will have the opportunity to look at what nature has to offer without effort.

Have a Cool Yule, and if you are lucky enough to get a new camera the Practical Photography evenings will be of particular interest to you. More photographs are now taken on mobile phones than on cameras so, if you are really up-to-date and get a new super-duper mobile phone, you must avoid my problem – I keep taking photos of my ear!
